We at Savage Pro Designs understand how annoying it can be to deal with oil leaks. Especially, a leaking sandwich plate, when running an external oil cooler. So we decided to engineer a better solution that didn’t use a pesky sandwich plate.
This lead us to designing an entire oil filter housing replacement. That mounts directly to the block & replaces the stock filter housing. Our filter housing has all the oil ports of the original one in addition to the following: - 4 x 1/8” NPT ports - 2 x -10 O-Ring Boss ports (5/8” ORB)
This housing was designed with 2 x 1/8” NPT ports on the oil cooler feed side and 2 x 1/8” NPT ports on the return from the oil cooler. This allows monitoring of pressure & temperature before and after the oil cooler. The 2 x -10 ORB ports used as the feed and return for the external oil cooler.
With these additions you will have all the necessary ports needed to run an external oil cooler setup, with none of the hassle of a sandwich plate.
